Only one more full week! The students have a lot to do next week… the last day of swimming lessons on Thursday and Field Day on Friday. I am looking forward to all the fun next week! We will continue with end of the year assessments and get ready to say goodbye for the summer!
Spelling: There is no spelling next week. The kids will have some morning work (Parts of a book and cursive)
Reading: Andrew Clements books will continue next week. They should be finishing them by mid-week. I know the students are all looking forward to the conclusions of the books.
Writing: This week, we are going to be taking a writing assessment and creating a little bit of poetry. The students will also be creating their writing portfolios (all of their writing from the year) as a memory book for third grade.
Math: Multiplication Quizzes will continue! The students will take them in order from 0-10. They will need to pass each test before they can move onto the next one. There will be small prizes/incentives for reaching the 3s, 5s, 8s, and finally the 10s. Please help your child study so that they can move quickly through these tests!
We will continue our dodecahedron memory balls next week. The students had a great time coming up with memories of third grade and we had fun thinking about the “old times”.
Social Studies/Science: We will continue with solar systems next week. They will learn more about the patterns in the sky.
Homework: This is the last week for reading logs. Please help to encourage your child to read every night. We will be talking more about the importance of reading throughout the summer. Many of your kids made incredible progress this school year and I really want them to be able to maintain that over the summer!
